I never had one personally, but Ro bothered the hell out of me for one so I got her one for Xmas - I forget what year. 1998? 1999? 2000? *shrugs*

I think I removed the batteries after a few days. Not sure if she still has it stashed somewhere.

My friend had one and phoned me late at night just to bitch about how annoying it was. I had a pokemon that did much the same thing, it used to wake me up at night. I think I ripped its head off at some point.

I had a Tamagotchi game on my computer. I played it for a couple of days, then got bored and tortured the little monster to death. Real animals (like our cats) were much more interesting.

I not only had a couple of Furbys, I paid a couple hundred bucks a pop for them on eBay because I HAD TO HAVE THEM RIGHT THEN.
