Kitty bed!!! I totally want to make this kitty bed. Sometimes IKEA Hacker actually has tempting ideas.→[More:]
p.s. hi bunnies!! eideteker sent me a nice mefi mail and lured me back here!
My kitteh that looks just like the model in the kitty bed except probably weighs 0.5kg less. She already has a bed. It is my bed. Most of the time she likes to sprawl out and it really is her bed that I can sleep in if I don't go on her side.
- a very large one (e.g. my bed, the sofa or a big cushion covered with a paw-print blanket) where one cat on her own can stretch out or curl up as she chooses without interference from the other cat.
- a bed too small for both cats that they insist on squeezing into together.
The cats won't use the 'too big' bed together, and won't use the 'too small' bed alone.
Yes, I have attempted to lure my cat with various catbeds. My cat's preferred bed is whereever the humans are sitting and sleeping at any given moment. No other bed will do.
Our cats sleep on the dog bed - with or without the dog (Otto), our bed, or our laps. I have not yet located their logic glands, so yeah EJ's right: cats are f'n weird.
typewriter, you make a good point. For one of my cats, I would probably cover "his" cat bed with open books, in order to ensure that he would sit directly on it.
I made some cat beds on the cheap with boxes from Costco and some old blankets cut into smaller blankets. They worked out very nicely: I put them near the radiators since winter this year in Cleveland has been cold and I hate to see them sprawled precariously on top of the heater about to fall off any minute.
