My father's lover letters. by Yusef Komunyakaa is a great poem. Thought I'd share.
Damn, that's intense. And it is great.

(You have an extra "r" in the name of your post that made me expect something slightly different, though equally dysfunctional.)

Good poem... I had the pleasure of a workshop with Yusef Komunyakaa when I was at the University of Miami. I was thrilled that he liked my poem.

When I teach Tim O'Brien's, The Things They Carried, I include poems from Komunyakaa's first collection about Vietnam, Dien Cai Dau. Great poet.
