Best Sandwich of 2008! Woot! →[More:]So, I used to be a line cook at my friend's restaurant in Columbia, MO. I created a sandwich when I worked there, and it was good enough to get on the menu. Then I returned to university to finish my undergraduate degree.

Apparently, my sandwich was nominated for "Best Sandwich in Columbia 2008!" After a month of voting I was in 3rd place, which didn't seem to bad to me. But then they culled all the duplicate votes and automated bot votes. AND I WON!

I wish i could link to something to show you, but the magazine is stupid and doesn't have archives for their online version.

The John Schyler Sandwich:
1 egg fried overhard
4 strips of bacon
Some chipotle mayo
Some red onion
Some tomato
Some jalapenos
All served between toasted bread of your choice. My personal favorite is homemade pita.

That's a sandwich I can get behind. Needs cheese, though, because it's not fully living up to its artery-blocking potential.

I suggest pepper jack.

Awesome. Seriously. The sandwich wouldn't be to my taste (I have problems with mayo and tomatoes, I'm afraid) but I'm totally impressed by someone who can concoct a novel and award-winning sandwich.

It is good with pepperjack. It's even good with veggie sausage. Honestly, I think the chipotle is the key.

Chipotle mayo sounds yum. Also, it seems that Tony Danza is one of the unofficial mascots of the cafe. That could only enhance the on-site sandwich eating experience, IMHO. Well, that and a shot of wheatgrass juice.

I'd totally forgotten about Book Club For Assholes...that was awesome. Had nothing to do with books or assholes, we'd just drink beer and watch the newest version of my friend's CATV show "29 Minutes".
