"It's like being punched in the eyes by tiny taunting monkeys wearing professorial cardigans." So, Sitegeist at Metafilter posted a game called Blocks With Letters On [Jay is Games Review here] back in October and if you are a masochistic puzzler like I am, you'll find that this is one the great ones. But wait! There's More! [More:]

Literally. Sitegeist recently memailed me to let me know there's now More Blocks With Letters On... and I'm on the final level right now. omg so good. I want to marry the designer of these games and give perimenopausal birth to his stick figure babies.

The Jay is Games reviewer says:

Look, I apologize in advance for posting this game. The first game was pretty popular, and as soon as I heard that Marty Sears had released More Blocks With Letters On, I knew you all would want to know about it. But great jumping giblets, this is a hard bloody game. Seriously, boggling at these puzzles feels like my brain is being sucked through my colon. It's like being punched in the eyes by tiny taunting monkeys wearing professorial cardigans. If you haven't played the first Blocks With Letters On, go play it before you even consider clicking on this one; the sequel's difficulty picks up at the point where the last game left off. Which was already freakishly difficult.

Yes. But also freakishly FUN, incredibly well designed, and there are these wonderful quirky little animation sequences at the end of each level that I've come to think of as the "reward" for solving that level.

I've gone all the way through both games without using any hints or clues at all (there are hints built into the game, as well as the usual walkthroughs at other sites). Because that's just how I roll. Hurts so good.
OK I'm stumped on the first level. I can't get the letters to move.

Use the arrow keys to move! But you're in the first game, right - not the sequel? Because you really have to play the first game to learn all the techniques that get expanded on in the second game.

Yep BP, I hope you didn't have anything you really needed to do in the next few hours because I have a feeling you're going to be busy playing this game. It's fun! Thanks for posting this taz.

I am totally stumped by level 16. Don't even know how to begin. I'm going to go eat pizza and then have another look at it later.

The gates are the key BP. If the pizza didn't work try beer. If the beer doesn't work I can give you a blow by blow (I think).

Finished! Fiendish. That was fun. I cheated a little bit by using the internet anagram server. Now I feel much smarter that I probably am.

Spelling is hard. GIve me an anagram server and a maze.
