Actually the main reason is because very few apartments will allow pets.

I have a friend who just got back from Japan and who was amazed that her friend there wanted to go to a cat cafe pretty often. Granted, the girl I know has cat allergies, and these places set her off pretty badly. She said they were quite clean, but the long-haired kitties would make her very sneezy.

Still, she could totally hang with her friend and appreciate the cat love.

Gomi, if few apartments allow pets, that explains it even more.

They all look so happy and calm. :) It's fantastic that a lot of them are rescue cats and strays. Lovely.
