Sore Throat is Sore Honey and lemon? A swift kick to the trachea? How to soothe this thing when my profession is talking to people all day? Aaaargh.
Years ago, the generic honey Robitussin cough medicine served me well when I worked in a call center and got sent home for laryngitis. It was the usual cough medicine/expectorant (guafenesein and dextromethorphan, I think, although I've mangled the spellings) with honey in it, too. Tasted pretty terrible, but it worked very well. If honey+lemon+whiskey (or whatever alcoholic beverage you have there) works, I'd certainly try that.

Feel better soon.

Gargling with salt water (tears-salty, not ocean salty) will work to kill the infection. As a lifelong sore-throat sufferer, I've come to swear by this.

Good suggestions, and you may want to try slippery elm lozenges.

I've found that regular hard candy like Lifesavers work well. Also hot lemonade is soothing. What about taking a day off and snuggling up with a stack of magazines and a hot toddy?

When I was in children's theater, I would get laryngitis every winter. The sure palliative was to boil water on the stove and build a little steam tent (or, turn the shower all the way to hot and sit in the bathroom with the door closed, but that wastes a lot of water).

Sucrets. I prefer the cherry flavor. They numb your throat (and mouth). Stop at the store & get powdered lemonade and bourbon. Hot water + instant lemonade + bourbon = dreamland.

Warm salt water, a la BP, does help a whole lot.

This stuff, if you can find it. Not sure about how good it might be at curing the sore throat, but it's very soothing. It tastes like fruity licorice caramel and I used to sneak spoonfuls even when I wasn't sick.

I swear I am not a woo-woo New Agey herbalistic hippie, this is just what my mum used to give us before packing us off - sore throat was not an excuse to miss school.

RI CO LAAA!

Ricola are my cough drops of choice (no added sugar!), but being where you are - I recommend the above home-type remedies. Or maybe your co-workers have suggestions.
