I had a really good sandwich yesterday [More:]and I am still thinking about it today.
It was a Vietnamese sandwich from a place I hadn't been to before in the neighborhood where I get my knives sharpened.

I had the Veggie sandwich and it was just so perfect. The carrots were so sweet, there wasn't too much cucumber or cilantro, the tofu was silky and creamy but had a great fried exterior, and the bread was fresh and perfectly toasted so it wasn't stabby or too soft.

Ahh, sandwich.
I immediately regretted not ordering 2.
But I found out that I am just within their delivery radius! Yay!
The banh mi never appeal to me because of the cilantro, and because baguettes are hurty for the TMJ. But hey, I'm glad you liked it!

I had a really good sandwich recently too. It came from the sandwich counter at my local grocery store. Grilled cheese on sourdough, with pepperjack, chipotle mayo, ortega chile, tomato, and pepperoncini. It was seriously yummy.

Often, really good sandwiches are better than sex.

I'm about to have a really good sandwich. Nothing exotic, a chicken cutlet, lettuce, tomato, mayo, avocado. Just good.

I wish I had a really good sandwich, but I have to go to a client lunch at a chain Italian place. SIGH.

I want a sandwich. Instead I'm roasting some sweet potatoes with garlic, olive oil salt and pepper. And "pepper powder" which is basically dehydrated mixed hot chilis that have been made into a powder (natch) for use as seasoning. It will be oh so good, but it's no sandwich.

Sandwiches are beautiful

And, OMG parenting used to be so much simpler!

*jealous!*

Greece doesn't understand sandwiches at all, except for "souvlaki me pita" and gyros. And, you know, like Subway bullshit - cold cuts on foamy, nasty buns. ugh. Greece is major Fail at sandwiches.

I'm jealous too: I have a front tooth issue that keeps from biting into anything. You don't realize how much you miss biting into things until you can't do it anymore. Sammiches just aren't the same. *sigh*

Darnit. I made the sweet potatoes too spicy. Damned pepper powder.

Not a sandwich but I made pasta puttanesca last night and it came out amazing. I didn't have the spaghetti noodles I normally use and instead used capellini noodles and think I'll stick with them in the future.

I remember a fantastic sandwich I had in high school on a class trip. Yes, so good, I remember it 15 years later. AHHHH... turkey, swiss, mayo, all on artisan white bread. The flavor may have been enhanced after 5 hours of tagging trout.

I remember a peach and peanut butter sandwich that a lover made for me just before I took off hitchhiking in Berkeley, headed north on 101.

Gosh, like yesterday. . .

Um, rmless2, those sandwiches are basically the best thing ever. I used to have a tiny convenience store in my neighborhood on the East Coast, and they made the best banh mi ever. They were so perfect, with tangy daikon shreds and hot chili sauce and...oh man. I want to cry just thinking about it. So good!

P.S. I had another good sandwich recently: Havarti, roasted red peppers, thinly sliced cucumbers, leaf lettuce, and pesto mayonnaise on multigrain bread. It was creamy, tangy, and totally delicious.

Sandwiches are my favorite food. I'm just like Joey from Friends.

P.S. Anything sweet potato is automatically delicious. If only "sweet potato" and "sandwich" concepts could somehow be combined...DANGEROUS.

I don't like sweet potato at all but I am familiar with the flavor. I am thinking thick sweet potato chips with a cucumber dressing on an onion roll, possibly with prosciutto and colby cheese, and some olive oil for dipping.

I had the perfect sandwich a few weeks ago which was a grilled turkey stuffing and cheddar sandwich. The mouthfeel was totally amazing. I had the same sandwich at a different place today and while it was still up there as a delicious sandwich it was not a Stop The Press! sandwich.
