I am home now. Basically my own morning meds finally took control, and I haven't been on the new one long enough for it to have really kicked in yet. However I won't be driving to NY without doc's consent.

My regular followup to last week's surgery is this Tuesday and I get the impression that he is about to get super agressive about the congestive heart failure aspect of my heart disease. I am considering asking him if I would be a good candidate for a study somewhere. I miss being in a lab (it was my career) and getting back in one even as the subject would feel like a homecoming.

I like this doctor. He is one of the oldest practicing cardiologists in the US and he has a lovely, morbid sense of humor (once you get through the gruff curmudgeon megalomaniac). I told him him I bought some really good booze yesterday and he reponded, "Well, becoming an alcoholic is the least of your worries."

I decided to test the waters a bit this evening and do some mall walking. The results were not great. I am very slow and get winded quickly--bad enough to make a treadmill stress test worthless. With frequent rests though, I was able to keep at it for 3 hours.

Side notes: Hallmark and Yankee Candle are closing, and neither Penneys nor FYE appear to be restocking.
