So last night around 3am, pips and I were awakened by strange sounds. →[More:] It sounded like fighter planes, actually. We're not all that far from two airports, so plane sounds isn't that weird, but these were really loud and lasted for over an hour. We're also not that far from a Con Edison facility so maybe it was something going on there. We actually dialed up 311 (the non-emergency 'get help' number), just as I was navigating the menu. it abruptly stopped, leaving the mystery unsolved.

There's always the possibility of an alien invasion. Sadly, I can't find my pitchfork and I'm in no mood to be probed.

Anyway, any NYC bunnies hear this (or even about this)?

I'm way over in Bed Stuy, but I didn't hear a thing ... and I was awake anyway.

Although two nights ago I heard what I'm positive was a gunshot. Second time I've heard gunfire in more than a year. (Yes, I was expecting more.)

So maybe the gunfire was from the aliens, and the maple syrup is from them too, and obviously they're sending more space ships, as they're preparing to take New York by storm.
