Big ears are your new thing, hm? I wouldn't want to be that critter in a strong headwind...

I adore these guys in photos but sadly, in real life, they smell awful. Like 50-cats-in-a-hoarder's-trailer awful. Our local zoo has a pair and they can be detected from a good 5 exhibits away.

Nooo. That little babby smells of butterscotch and cinnamon.

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?

(Oops, caps lock still on from data entry, not from emotion. But I'm letting it stand.)

Maybe the smell can be kept down by shrink-wrapping them. Of course you'd have to put them on a string to drag them around, what with the legs being all vacuumed sealed and all. But that could be fun too. Maybe attach the string to a stick and swing the little fox around a bit.

/sorry, I'm in a very strange mood.

Fennec ears are the cutest heat sinks in the universe.

Fennec happens to be Latin for "Big Ear Gwan' Come Stink Your Baby".

I have this on good authority.

Is he going to grow into those ears?

Notable Characteristics:
Unlike other foxes, fennec foxes are said to have very little odor.

Maybe the zoo needs to wash them? In any case, too cute.

They do make a high pitched shriek..so they are that cute for a reason!

They apparently have a scent gland at the tip of their tail which is stinky enough to be deployed as a defense. Or at least that's what I gather from skimming this article before returning to the irresistible photo at the top.
