Help me remember this song I can't even remember any of the lyrics but it has a bridge that sounds somewhat like this on the guitar:[More:]

c'1 c'2 b2 a8 r4 f'8 f'8 r4 a8 r4 f'8 f'8

c' = middle c
b = b below middle c
a = a below middle c
f' = f above middle c
r = rest

1 = whole note
2 = half note
4 = quarter note
8 = eighth note
What you posted is a half measure short, but if you tack 2 quarter notes of G on the end, it sounds damn familiar. Early 80s Brit power pop familiar. The lyric that came to my mind is "Who's your boyfriend, now?", but the only song I can remember like that is an old Billy Squier song from 1976 when he was with Piper, and that's pretty fucking obscure.

Is that the melody or the rhythm part? Whichever, I think I'm gonna steal it.

This rendition is approximate in a number of ways but I'm sure anyone who has heard this song recently would know it.

Figured it out. It's Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp. And my attempt above is even further away from the original than I thought.

Whoa! as I drifted into sleep last night, I was thinking "Hear a tale of the mad man. Take a look down at the sad man." ELP, I believe. Jack And Diane though, eh? Mellencamp, right? One of the few songs where I thought he was writing in Springsteen's league.
