I always think I'd feel so humiliated in a context like that. But maybe when in this situation your emotional response is not so much "I can't believe you're doing this to me!" as much as, "I'm not a problem dude, I'll just chill just get your checks over with"..

hang on, what do they mean "made comments they shouldn't have made on the airplane"? I have talked about where the safest seats are before. It's a natural, if slightly irrational, thing to consider if you're one of those people who are nervous about flying, as I am.

gaspode: yeh, I've had that conversation, too. I always think it's slighty goulish and something the people around me might not appreciate (thus "inappropriate") but I'm a small white woman, so no-one would ever delay a flight or humiliate me over it. As a nation, we are so out of control.
