Einstein On The Beach. My better half was gone today doing the Thanksgiving thing, and the weather was cold and rainy, so I stayed in [More:]and listened to shitloads of Philip Glass with a fire in the fireplace and cats snoozing nearby, though they did not like the music.
His extended family who live near Atlanta have a huge Thanksgiving get-together on the Saturday after (100 to 150 people, even) and I didn't go this year.

That sounds like a really great day, BoringPostcards. I envy you your fireplace.

This morning I saw my aunt for the first time in ten years and met her grandchildren for the first time ever. My mom went off with them to lunch, shopping, and the Ellicott City B&O train museum. The kids were five and six, boy and girl, really courteous. My dad and I went out for Mexican food, which was really good (I had tacos filled with carne asada), and then I came home and played guitar, watched some soccer, read about Jacob and Esau, then thought about my mom and her sister and their upbringing, then about my own brother and our upbringing, and then watched some college football. Then I ate dinner with my parents (meatloaf, potatoes, carrots, and salad) and had a lively conversation with them about the way British soccer commenters use this strange future perfect progressive tense and the backwards way they build sentences: noun, then verb, then pronoun (e.g. "He will have been gutted not to have made more of that shot, Didier Drogba.") I walked my brother's dog, who's staying with my parents while my brother's family visits the in-laws for Thanksgiving. He likes when I scratch his brisket and rump.

Philip Glass is excellent music for a cold and rainy day.

EOTB is the bomb. Pun intended.

If they want a say in the music, let them make a few mortgage payments.
