I have a very bad feeling I'll end up buying this. My nostalgia for the unremembered 90's has hit a fever pitch. [More:]The only way to stop it would be to buy this shirt and wear it around, only to have no one 'get it.'

Has there been anything anyone else considered buying that is unnaturally geeky?

(For those of you not in the know, Power Computing was a small startup that sold Mac clones back when Apple was licensing it's operating system. It harkens back to a pre-iMac Apple, when things were going down the tubes and aligning oneself with Apple was a maverick thing to do)

I had forgotten about Power Computing (and my old PowerBase 180 - I never did get my free copy of BeOS...) but I miss the original version of the ad.

The closest thing I have to an unnaturally geeky purchase is the shirt that I bought.

I say bid on it. I'm pretty sure a lot of people will recognize it, those machines were pretty popular back then. At least, I remember using them (what for I can't actually remember) and I've never even liked the Macintosh OS.

I learned my lesson about computer nostalgia after buying a used RS/6000 on eBay, doing absolutely nothing with it, and then giving it away.

I was such a big fan of BeOS that I bought one of their t-shirts and wore it to every job interview I went to between 1998 and 2000. I also drove down to their office to watch them do a demo of it playing 64 videos at the same time on a dual processor Intel machine. I still occasionally get nostalgic and dig out my old copy of the first x86 release, install it on some old hardware, and marvel at how awesome it is.
