What's for lunch?→[More:] I've got leftover pasta + tomato sauce and a couple of satsumas. Need some bread. Might go hunt down a roll. Might not. This is possibly the biggest decision I'll face all day.
Meh. Some leftover Barilla Plus macaroni elbows (which is actually one of the better grocery store macaronis I've run across) mixed with some leftover arugula, fennel, and radicchio salad with lemon/olive oil dressing. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice salad, but I've already eaten it at a few meals so I'm tired of it. This is the last portion, fortunately.
I didn't brown bag, so probably an Arby's French Dip. Which, while not great, sounds much less disgusting than some of the fast food alternatives. I can't even look at french fries right now, I had some really nasty greasy ones a couple of weeks ago and it put me off them for the forseeable future.
leftover pizza, an apple and some fancy herbal acai tea I brought in. Local joint is running a special whereby 2 combo pizzas delivered with tip is ~$18, meaning on a crappy night when the fridge is bare and I don't feel like shopping I can, for less than twenty bucks, have my dinner brought to me, plus lunch is also taken care of for the next 3 days.
I have some rosemary french bread that I'll toast, and eat with some sliced Fontal cheese. I'm thinking I might make some Miso soup with mushrooms to have with it.
Leftover roasted root vegetables (rosemary and garlic-a-licious) rounded out with some homemade haricot bean hummus, tomato, cucumber, and water crackers.
A burger from Wendy's because I forgot my lunch today, with side of arguing with co-workers for bringing me a problem that it really NOT mine to solve, when I'm already so buried in work that I'm eating in front of my edit system.
Bagel and cream cheese and a bag of chips and a travel mug of tea. I am trying to deliberately and consciously go one week without having to hit up any of the campus food places.
whatever is left by the time I can get away from my desk. Hopefully soon, since I'm tempted to break into my emergency snack drawer. I'm thinking ham and cheese, maybe.
Flesh was especially weak today, so I ordered the Tex-Mex omelet from Pamela's Diner across the street: chorizo, cheddar, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa, with buttered toast and Lyonnaise potatoes.
I lucked out with one of the dorm dining halls having my favorite facsimile of stuffed ravioli and alfredo sauce. Mostly I needed to walk across campus by myself. Cost too much, but I'll just have more beans for dinner.
Well, it would've been a cheese and salami roll, but I left the bloody thing behind.
Grrrr.
I think that means it'll be a smoked salmon and salad baguette... cos I've got a meeting this arvo and shouldn't go to the pub for a burger and a pint. Grrrr x2.
I went to go meet an old coworker at her new job across town. She now works in a crazy old manion-type building and they have a chef and get free lunch every day. It was awesome and there were tons of veggie options.
I had roasted cauliflower, snap peas with garlic, spicy mango salad, and cheese.
I almost had bread but noticed the caraway seeds (allergic) just in time so I ate the cheese plain.
This place was incredible, and the chef was very nice. He was so happy when I came back for more cauliflower! I talked to him about how I recently screwed up my attempt at veggie spag carbonara, and he shared a really easy vegan approximation with me which I might try someday.
