From my friend, musician
Jon Goble, who died last week. His funeral was today. It was, as funerals should be, sad and happy, but mostly sad because he was taken far too soon. I knew I should have worn waterproof mascara, because I cried and cried. Thank you, Irish Kevin, for your broad shoulder and comforting arm.
At the end when we went outside the chapel we were all given a balloon, either black or white, to represent the keys of a piano, and on a signal from Jon's 12-year-old son we released them into the sky.
Goodbye Jon.
