AskMeCha: Rock Tees for Fat Guys? All I want is a Blind Guardian t-shirt in XXL. Preferably with the winged reaper, but I'll settle for anything. But everything maxes out at XL! And I'm NOT dieting just to fit into a t-shirt advertising German power metal. No love via Amazon or Planet Caravan. Hope me! Also, discuss your newfound love for music you used to sneer at.
Any chance you could start listening to hip-hop music? Quite a few of those t-shirts are, like, 3XL or something.

Dude, you're skinnier than me, and XL always fits for me. Try one from somewhere that'll let you do a return if it's not comfortable on you.

I've passed up many a cool rock shirt because my belly exceeds the apparent width of the average music fan. Especially when I was seeing lots of British Bands in the early 90's - those bands loved small shirts.

Yeah, it's a UK vs. US thing I think - whenever I buy shirts for bands in the UK, the body is always 2 inches too short, even if it fits around my trunk. If it's long-sleeved, the arms are similarly mis-proportioned.

My roommate has the opposite problem. He's pretty slim, and whenever he goes to concerts they only have L or XL shirts for sale.

muddgirl, funny you say that- I have a wax trax shirt I LOVE because it's about two inches shorter than a normal t, so I don't feel like I'm wearing a nightgown when I have it on.

I prefer my t-shirts cut by Omar the Tentmaker. I just figured that any band whose lyrics are uh, explicitly Tolkienesque (ok, ok, Tad Williams-esque) would have a market in the, uh, shall we say, pear-shaped polyhedral-dice-friendly contingent.

Also: Blind Guardian is the most stupidly fun band I've discovered in the past 90 days, and my enthusiasm will fade as I discover the next shiny thing.

Also also: The Dirty Projectors is not the next shiny thing.

Also also also: If a singular proper noun is expressed as a plural form, is the verb singular or plural?

Also also also also: I just heard the Blind Guardian cover of Surfin' USA. IT ROCKS.
