So sad.

so very sad. I wish she could have seen her grandson make history in a little over a day. But I'm sure she knew that.

:( :( :(

It was very wise of him to take that day off last week to visit her. He won't ever regret that.

Oh what a shame. I hope she died without fear that he'd lose because then he always won.

But, given how Mr Obama has said he regrets not being with his mother, it must be a relief to him that he saw her last week.

Aw, granny. It seems like she tried so hard to hang on.

Ah, goddammit. Just one more day.

What makes me sad is how people on freerepublic are reacting to the news. I can't understand how some people can have so much hate.

so close. :(

Wait, what are the freepers saying about it?

On second thought, don't tell me.

You do not want to know. I looked. Calling them horrid monsterous people would be too kind, as it implies they have some sort of humanity.

I'm with Atom Eyes, don't tell me. Instead read this article, which is about people being asked to say something nice about the man they do not plan to vote for.

A thought I've had many times over the last few months.

What sad news. I'm happy he went to see her, but I'm sorry she didn't get to see the election.

crush-onastick, thank you for that article!

It would have been nice if she could have lasted to see him elected, if that is what happens. Either way, I'm sure she was very proud of him. Just another day or so though....sad.

No shit.

Tomorrow we're all getting him across the finish line, people.

She got him this close, now we can all carry him over.

ROCK ON.

Her death is sad but I don't think the timing matters a whit as I doubt she could have ever been more proud of him.
