what are you going as for Halloween this year? [lifehacker] [More:]

there are some great ideas on this link and especially in the comments. LOVE the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac couple.

I'm still at a loss as to what I'm going as for the Halloween Cruise. It's probably going to be reasonably mild, but chilly at night, and we'll be on bikes, so there's some definite limitation.

the dude is dressing up as Santa Claus - he's got a lightup plastic yard deer that he plans to attach to the front of the trike, then we'll put a bunch of "presents" in the back basket. Yes, we have a cruiser trike. It is full of win and awesome.
I'm going as/went as Mrs Lovett (first halloween party was this past friday).

The only things I didn't make was the rolling pin I carry, my mesh gloves, stockings, and shoes. I'm super happy with how it turned out, and the skirt is REALLY warm since the back is about five layers thick with ruffles.

I love halloween. A coworker is telling me I'm sure to win the work contest, but really, if I didn't even place when I went as Scarlet O'Hara right down to the hoop skirt and corset I don't think I ever will. (I made the white and green dress from the BBQ scene at the begining)

Halloween's this week, isn't it? As usual, I'll be dressed as a middle-aged engineer, I haven't actually dressed in a costume in a long time, maybe twenty years.

octothorpe, going as Dilbert is always an acceptable theme :)

My buddy and I will be robots from Flight of the Conchords.

I'd probably dress up if I had a party to go to but I haven't been invited to one since the eighties.

spork, I *heart* FotC and those robots are awesome! You may, in fact, be on your way to creating a singularity of awesomeness that cancels out all the suck in the universe, so I say YAY!

I'm going as a guy who is celebrating the turn of the millennium. But I can't find those 2000 glasses anywhere. Pretty key to the costume.

I am SO excited. I spent the weekend making a dress, bonnet and apron to go as a pioneer, a la Little House on the Prairie. It turned out well, if I do say so myself!

I'm definitely going with the suffragist idea, and stealing scody's idea for the banner I'm going to carry ("Enjoy voting? Thank a COMMUNITY ORGANIZER!"). I just went through our costume shop and put my outfit together - a perfect linen skirt and 1919 top, lace-up boots, and of course, a comfy corset to complete the look. I'm still on the hunt for an appropriate hat - I have a straw one, but straw and Oct.31 don't mix well. On the other hand, it has red white and blue ribbons.

I also have to make a "Votes for Women" sash to wear. i should hit Jo-Ann's today.

Very excited!

That sounds like heaven. I love your costume idea, too!

I recommend painting it. I used their iron-on letters last year when I was Miss Argentina from Beetlejuice. They fell off constantly. Real pain in the butt.

It is pretty awesome -- and an unfair advantage sometimes! But it has its challenges. A lot of our costumes are for preteen and early teenage girls and they are (ahem) a bit small for me, so my options are limited. But on the whole, it's way fun to play around in there!

Heh, I'm going as the person who hands out the candy while eating as much of it as possible...

That's one for you and one for me....and one for...

OOOPS, all gone. Lights out!

Depends on where i go, if i can, what fits and what works and that sudden burst of inspiration showing up or not.
i love Halloween and i rarely get to observe it properly.

I went to a halloween party as House. Again.

Here is an unflattering photo of me and a friend to illustrate!
I'm ticked nobody got a photo of me that included the cane my sister gave me for Christmas, which is part of the reason I'm being House again.

I love this "costume" because it really only requires that I be myself, wear clothes I already own, shoes I already own, and walk around with a Christmas present. It's pretty awesome, but I wonder what I'll do next year... you can't do the same costume THREE years in a row...
