Dreamed Up Performances You Want To See [More:]Sometimes I think on performances I want to see- things that may never happen, but things that if I had my druthers would be performed to my specifications. A track from the musical "1776" came up on Yahoo! Music, and it reminded me of my long-standing desire to see an all-female production of "1776". I don't know why, I just want to see that really bad. I also keep hoping someone will soon revive "Lil' Abner" and cast Cheyenne Jackson in the title role before he gets too old (and that time might be coming very soon, he might be there already).

What about you? Are there covers you want to hear done, bands you want to see unite with other bands, theatre productions you're dying to cast? Do share.
Cats performed by dogs.

i'd like to see a lot of casts reassembled and made to read it off on stage, which i think is a fabulous fundraiser idea.

Think of the possibilities of reuniting ensemble casts of movies from when they were young to now, or even sitcom episodes.
The mind boggles at the selections.

i've never seen 1776 but i'd like to see an all female version.

As Ryan O'Neal?

ethylene, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS often does stuff like that with Broadway musicals- staged readings with original cast members, or funny stunt casting.

And i love it, but never get to see it.

I would like to hear Opeth cover Bat Out of Hell, the album, start to finish.

Bolero as a dog dance between performed between a large, mostly-black border collie with a white blaze and ruff, and Simone Simons in jeans, a black t-shirt, and pair of fuzzy collie ears, backed by Blind Guardian and the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra circa 1949.

i have never seen cats, don't know what the story is about, and i'm unaware of any casting decisions associated with it. i just like saying cats.

I always liked the idea of that Point Break performance that had a random member of the audience cast in the Keanu Reeves part.

i saw Cats when i ten or something. It's great, if you're ten or something. i just had to make a Cats joke. Laugh, cry, Argentina.

I heard a story, maybe it's apochryphal, about how someone was asking Andrew Lloyd Webber about what Cats was about- is it about power, politics, modern society? And ALW just looked blankly and said, it's about cats.

I wanna see Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segal as Javert and Valjean, respectively. Dudes, seriously. I want them to finish "Confrontation" for me so badly.

I want to see the Rolling Stones perform their greatest hits in concert, but all the members should be replaced by famous apes. Cheeta (the chimp from the Tarzan movies) as Mick, Clyde (the orangutan from Every Which Way But Loose) as Keef, Koko the signing gorilla as Charlie Watts, King Kong as Bill Wyman, and Ham the Astrochimp as Brian Jones.

They would play each song perfectly and sound exactly the same, but they would be apes. It would be awesome.

Hmph. I certainly didn't let any concerns about plausibility or practicality constrain my effort there.

These days, i like a little plausible every once in a while.

A reggae cover of 'Rockin' Robin' would be neat.

I think "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" would make a great Broadway Musical. Less so, but still cool and with potential would be "Bedknobs and Broomsticks." FLY THAT SHIT. And sing.

dammit.
