I haven't seen "Happy-go-lucky", but it's a Mike Leigh movie ("Vera Drake", "Secrets and Lies") and seems to have good reviews. It doesn't sound like it's quite a typical chick-flick.

I liked this. TE is right, "Happy-Go-Lucky" isn't a chick flick in the UK, but has obviously been pitched as one in the States.

I loathe Colin Firth and his stupid, smug face and wooden acting.

Catch and Release. I'd be interested to see the defense of this one, it was pretty bad (and she was very clearly pregnant with her daughter Violet in the film, which made the whole thing just a little weirder). And I don't even dislike Jennifer Garner per se, she just seems to not do so well picking good movies to be in.
