Peter Kay is a genius. It's all in the detail, like the sign held up at the beginning saying "Cum on Geraldine", which is just perfect. And his characterisation is always spot on. He captures the essence of the northern British working class in a way that only possibly Caroline Aherne and Steve Coogan can match.
