There seems to be no picture of her on the web but this one. I'm not sure if it's just a knockoff. I remember her being better drawn.
My first fan letter was to Les McKeown of the Bay City Rollers, when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. Imagine my horror when the cute boy I loved went solo and turned into the Scottish Michael Jackson.
Also not embarrassed but I still kind of have a thing for Corinne Bohrer. Recently, I've seen her as the mom in the Pizza Rolls commercial where the kid punches through the wall to get at the delicious snacks. It's a bit of a slide from playing Zed's girlfriend in the Police Academy movies, but as long as she's working.
Watched History of the World Part I with my girlfriend last night. Not Madeline Kahn's finest hour, but I still love her.
I may have mentioned this here before, but it was Gunther Gebel-Williams, the animal trainer from Ringling/Barnum & Bailey Circus. I was in fifth grade.
The last time I saw him was years and years later-we had taken my children to the circus, and he was there watching-in the ring-as his son was doing an elephant act. The finale of the act had one elephant spinning on a round raised platform-apparently the elephant had had plenty of fire because suddenly as it twirled around it started defecating, making a nice swirl of elephant poop going around and around as well.
I found Michael J Fox unbearably attractive as a pre-teen - Family Ties (although I disagreed strongly with Alex's politics), The Secret of My Success and Poison Ivy, and then of course Back to the Future and Teen Wolf, were ossum. I once fainted at the sight of a friend's poster of him (it was also a very hot day and we'd just ridden our bikes up the massive hill on which we both lived). I cried quite a bit when I saw the first footage of him afflicted with Parkinson's.
I was completely head over heels for George Michael from the very first time I saw Wake Me Up Before You Gogo. It was love at first sight. He was the first (and only) man to grace my wall in poster form. Everything else was unicorns and rainbows. I even got a door-sized poster of him looking all hunky and sexy. I was too young to realize he was gay gay gay gay gay. Nowadays, it is painfully obvious that he wasn't into girls, but I still hold out hope that the only girl he would ever love would be me.
Jaclyn Smith from Charlie's Angels. Everyone else had the Farah poster, sure, but I had the hots for the sultry brunette. Poor Kate Jackson -- no one had a crush on Kate Jackson.
And msali, I was in lurve with George Michael after 'Bad Boys' - "easy girls and late nights, cigarettes and love bites, why do you have to be so cruel, you're such a fool!".
Oh man. There are a few bad ones. The one that springs to mind right now is Corey Hart. I was eleven. We both played tenor sax; it seemed to me a match made in heaven. Sadly, it was another five years before my first kiss.
Also (and this is bad), John Cusack (who isn't bad at all, I still have a little thing for him except this is) from the era of *wince* The Journey of Natty Gann. He played a young and mysterious hobo who travelled with a wolf. I ached to meet him.
I dated someone in 1990 who looked just like a young Winona Ryder. She was really uptight and not that into me so I just never called her again. The last time I saw her she was married and unhappy.
Leif Garrett. I just thought he was so cute. I also remember crushing on "Juan Epstein" from "Welcome Back, Kotter".
Bunnyfire, I'd forgotten Gunther Gebel-Williams. For years I kept the large, glittery program from the three times I went to the circus - with Gunther's picture on the covers. Wow! That really brought back memories!
Kirk Cameron. I was desperately hoping I wasn't really gay, but he made it a lot harder to deny. It really messed with my head when I found out he'd turned into a fundie nutcase.
Oh, i got one.
We were watching The Goonies when it first came out and i thought that one guy was really cute, really had something. My sister turns to me and and says, "That's a girl." in a voice like a audio eye rolling.
It was Martha Plimpton.
As i guy i thought she was something, as a girl she does nothing for me, but i always hoped she was related to George Plimpton.
