I probably won't watch, though I always like to see the gowns. I haven't watched the Emmys in years because I don't watch a TV show on a consistent basis. I wish this weren't the case. I would love to have a few shows I watch consistently, but it seems I'm on the computer, watching movies, or reading instead of watching a weekly program. I need to do something about this.

i didn't know it was tonight, but i saw bits of Jimmy Kimmel and i have it on now.
i like the Emmys. They're usually more relaxed and would piss me off like no other show if i watch the shows involved.

That woman's outfit and earrings go perfectly with that Emmy.

i could have grown up to be Don Rickles.

I'm watching them right now. It's ironic because we have basic, basic cable, so we hardly get any of the shows.

It was great to see the people from Laugh-In.

I really try to keep myself from watching any awards shows (except the Tonys), they always end up being disappointing and I feel like I've wasted my time (that said, I know this because I rarely am able to keep myself from watching). Particularly the Oscars- I never go to the movies!

I tried to grow up to be Don Rickles. It didn't work.

My girl-crush on Laura Linney has increased exponentially, due to her thanking "all the community organizers who made this country possible." Nice!

The Emmys were just dire this year.

My favorite part every year is when the nominees for comedy/variety writing are announced, and the shows turn in their own reels. Dr. Phil diagnosing all the Letterman writers - ha!

Tonight I'll be watching Brownlow Medals to see what the girlfriends of the AFL players are wearing.

ALL BECAUSE OF PROJECT RUNWAY AUSTRALIA,DAMMIT

I'll be watching the Brownlow's too - because I went to school with this girl. And, lovely though she actually is, I find it almost like a train wreck phenomenon. Yeah she looks hot here - in a plastic kind of way - but this girl was the most naturally beautiful girl in my year. She's smarter than I am - and I was one of the smarter kids - and she's done well for herself in a professional medical field.

But I feel sad when I see her, because so much of who she is is defined by how many guys are slobbering over her. And, knowing her like I did, I know that never satisfied her or made her happy.

But oh yes - the Emmys... Where was Pushing Daisies?? Did they win anything? They should!

Tonight? I can't wait!

I actually wasn't even aware the Emmys were last night... I did see some of that utterly bizarre (and though I wanted to like it, unfunny) Jimmy Kimmel special and now it makes sense. (Barbara Walters parody?)
