So, Obama spoke in my town, walking distance from my house even.[More:]

And, I didn't hear about it until just after it happened. Bummer.

On the good side, my belly is full of sushi.
Aw, man! But yeah, the sushi is a plus.

I didn't hear Obama speak either, and had a BLT on toast with peanut butter and mayonnaise. Awesome.

The only time a presidential candidate has spoken within walking distance from MY house, it was Mike Dukakis.

He's even more boring in person, let me tell you.

I have heard no candidate speak live but I went and bought a turkey sandwich - instead of makeing a much more healthy and cheaper dinner - because I am so sick of all this political silliness, my head is about to pop like a carbuncle on america's big fat ignorant ass.

I've taken to watching, for the 10,000th time, my DVDs of West Wing. Can we please please please PLEASE elect Josiah Bartlett as the next President of the United States???

After listening to NPR today, apparently the county I live in is a battleground county in a battleground state. Palin was here last week at the fairgrounds. Obama picked a much better place to speak, that's for sure. We have the largest brewery in the world in this city after all.

Anyways, it's pretty exciting, and it means that my vote will count for something this year! WOOT. Colorado has a high proportion of independent voters in spite of the publicity the conservative Colorado Springs area gets. Democrat Governor, both houses of the legislature is Democrat, the last Senator elected is a Democrat, and a Democrat is leading in the polls for the seat being vacated by Wayne Allard. So, I think it bodes well for Obama in Colorado.

Hillary's been near my house, but that was as a senator and in her senate campaign. Presidential campaigners don't visit Buffalo. We haven't voted for a republican since Nixon.

OTOH, kellydamnit, that means that campaign ads are for the most part things we go look at because we're curious about them, not an unending onslaught of depressing crap that you can't get away from without turning off your tv for three months.
