I guess I should explain. Matt has been studying international relations with an emphasis on the Middle East for most of the time I've known him.
We've been friends since 1993, when he moved to Seattle and played in a couple of bands together.
He moved to DC in the spring of last year, after graduating from grad school, hoping to wind up at a think tank or some policy group. In the meantime, he's written for The Center for American Progress, The American Prospect and Think Progress.
This is his latest gig.
