"Sweet Georgia Brown" and "Tea For Two" performed by Anita O'Day at the Newport Jazz Festival 1958 (slyt, may contain stylish hats, heroin, and the coolest white jazz singer ever)
In one of the audience shots, you'll see a guy in a clerical collar. He's the father of a college buddy of mine (he apparently quit the priest business and got married). According to my college ex-girlfriend who I saw a few weeks ago, the son graduated college, never got a job and has been living off his mom.

(the veracity of this is all from the buddy in question)

Wow, we all look like such slobs now. People in that audience are dressed better than I do for church.

The documentary about her is playing in NY right now! One of the talking heads is married to a friend of my mother's. I was their flower girl.I knew that this guy was in the closet (not sure why they got married; the wedding was in the mid-70's post-Stonewall and they live in LA), but I did NOT know that he was a heroin addict.
