What's for dinner? I'm having[More:]the remains of the weekend's roast lamb cut up and stir-fried with garlic, ginger, leeks, broccoli, carrots, courgettes, peppers, cabbage and mangetout, with a splash of soy sauce. There'll be tons left for another day too.
We're going out for one of Stynx's friend's birthday. I have no idea where, but hopefully somewhere that I can get a salad. I ate a LOT of fried food yesterday.

I wanted to go for Mexican but they're closed for the holiday. Then I was going to go to a Native place but they're closed.
so, um, I don't know.

I was thinking of meeting up with my friend for Korean Fried Chicken, but only if I pushed through on some writing. Doesn't look good right now.
(Korean Fried Chicken is *totally* different than any other fried chicken but also pretty much the same. It comes with a daikon salad instead of fries.)

We're having a holiday pot-luck block party so I'll be eating burgers and fries and three-bean salad and the like. The neighborhood association supplies the beer and meat and each neighbor brings a salad or a dessert.

Liverwurst ("Braunschweiger" to the lily-livered) sandwiches, cheddar cheese, and beer. Plus a salad of dandelion greens and baby spinach.

Korean chicken would really hit the spot.

I made sandwiches: avocado mashed into a spread with lime juice, heavily peppered fried tofu, and tomatoes on toasted fresh ciabatta bread.

It almost makes up for having the flu this weekend.

I'm going to this place after I see Vicky Cristina Barcelona at the movies. I'll probably get the scallops or the shrimp.

cmonkey, that sounds amazing.
hm, it looks like the plan now is greek or falafel. One of my best friends has been out of town for a week, so we're all getting food when he train gets in.

Damn, cmonkey, that does sound good. And essexjan's lamb dish sounds yummy, too. I have no idea what I'm having for dinner. But you know it's football season, because I'm having leftover buffalo wings for lunch...

Leftover Thai for me. I always get more then I can eat and make several meals out of it. I mix it all together in the wok with the rice to reheat it and then wrap it in a tortilla with peanut suace. So good.

Leftover homemade lasagna. Mmmm....

I have a terrible cold and mr alto is out of town, so houmous, pitta and white wine. Run out of whisky, so will have to have a virgin toddy.

Chicken breast fried with some 'cape malay' spice mix, with boiled new potatoes & assorted roasted vegetables, specifically beetroot, carrot, celeriac & onion.

We were going to have Indian food for dinner tonight (palak paneer, dal, and raita), but those buffalo wings are getting eaten late (we had some that didn't get cooked at the time so had to be cooked today), so I don't know if anyone's going to be hungry for Indian come dinner time. Maybe tomorrow. 'Course, come 8:00 I'll be starving again and wishing I'd cooked, and by then it'll be too late and we'll be having popcorn and leftover tortilla chips with cheese goo and ginger snaps or something, after we arm wrestle over the last bit of last night's kung pao chicken (yes, I'm on a spicy food kick. Of sorts. When everyone doesn't eat at, like, 3pm or something.)

Also, I want everyone else's dinner. And I'm trying to picture what goes into a toddy if there's no booze. I see a sad, mostly empty cup with some brown sugar slowly dissolving into a quarter inch of lemon juice, barely dampening the cinnamon stick. But then, my hot toddies would knock out a bull elephant.

Leftover garlic and buffalo chicken sausage, with some beans, and maybe the boneless chicken I defrosted and failed to cook the last couple days. I was thinking of poaching it for chicken salad. We also have a ton of frozen stuff (went shopping yesterday) if none of that surfeits.

Prolly steam some asparagus and toss it with some fancy gnocchi I got on a whim last week. It's about all I have in the house.

Probably a box of Bagel Bites. Or something like that.

basmati rice, black beans and tuna. and a peach.

I just successfully grilled my first whole chicken using Bob Gibson's white BBQ sauce. Also fried eggplant, but we ate those while waiting for the chicken. Leftover baked beans will be served as well.

turned out to be spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread.

I had some frozen Southwestern Eggrolls and some beer. They're a pubgrub weakness.

I made a ton of deviled eggs to celebrate the holiday, and then it made me sad because I don't have a cookout to bring them to to celebrate. So I'll be eating deviled eggs all alone...sigh.

Our seafood place was closed so we went to this really pretty place that had outdoor seating with white lights in the trees and live jazz. I had pasta with Pomodoro sauce with grilled shrimp, wine, and crusty bread.

Pesto from the garden. There is enough basil for one more batch. My secret ingredient is a couple sun-dried tomatoes. Gives it a bit of sweetness.

Home made gnocchi fried in olive oil, garlic, fresh sage and shallots.

We ate late (finally saw The Dark Knight tonight) and had a favorite in our house: smothered pork chops with thyme (cooking light recipe) and a salad with feta, olives and tomatoes. Then chocolate-raspberry cake.

Goddamn it, I always keep meaning to, and forget. I'll do it now.

I had takeout thai- green papaya salad and veggie pad thai. I ate it while watching the Gossip Girl premier (OMFG!) and it was good. It's nice to be back in NY!
