"The Kids in the Shoe" (Fleischer Studios, 1935) A great cartoon, with a swingin' version of the song "Mama Don't 'Low" that starts at about the 4:15 mark.
One thing I like about the Fleischer Popeye cartoons (and it shows up in this too) is the way that some of the funniest dialogue is just sort of mumbled in this odd way--it sounds like a found recording instead of scripted lines. (In this cartoon, it's "My comb and my brush" that slays me.)

Yeah, Prospero. I always like that about the Fleischer cartoons, as well. As I recall, most of the incidental dialogue in those shorts was improvised during the sound recording sessions, which is why the characters don't move their mouths to match the words. This was very different from how it was done at Disney and Warner Brothers, where all the dialogue was recorded before the animation was done, and therefore the characters' mouths always sync up perfectly with the words.
