Rough few days Hey, people.→[More:]
My job got cut on Tuesday. I loved that job.

I've been reluctant to mention it here, because I'm trying to stay cool and focus pretty hard on what I need to do and not get all mired in the sorts of outrage/sadness/platitudes that this kind of announcement tends to evoke, but. Right this second I could use a hug. Or reasonable facsimile.

Where are you? Is it time for a meet-up wherever you are? Nothing like a bunch of friendly faces to cheer you up, and I bet more than one person would buy you a beer/soda/coffee. (If you're local to me, I call the first drink.)

Aw, honey! That bites and sucks. But wouldn't it be great if this opened the door for a great opportunity that you wouldn't have pursued unless this rotten thing had happened? That's exactly what I'm hoping for.

That does suck. I've seen it happen to friends (and to my husband -- twice), and it's devastating when it happens. First thing to remember: It's NOT YOU. It's the weirdness of the workplace.
