Bananas in pajamascellophane? There is no hope for us.
Well it's not like they have their own wrapper. Oh wait...

The supermarket is Morrison's, where I like to shop. I've never seen bananas wrapped like that, they normally sell them loose, in bunches, with a little plastic hook through them that has the price on. How wasteful to wrap them individually, and how ironic, bearing in mind Morrison's has a publicity drive in stores to encourage people to re-use bags and save packaging.

Not to mention that they'll gas themselves ripe (with our friend ethylene!) faster in the wrap.

I'm pretty sure I've seen apples sold like that in the US, with a single apple shrink-wrapped on a plastic tray.

And no, there really is no hope for us.

It's a sign of the times, baby, a sign of the times.

No, there is no hope. Not that we deserve any, really.

That is utterly ridiculous, but I'm not surprised. Despite all their rhetoric Morrison's is still the only supermarket in which I've seen shrink-wrapped heads of broccoli (as in, the only broccoli available is wrapped) and it is rare to find any veges that aren't pre-packed (but I only want 1 carrot, not 500g! Tough).
