La la la lala La la la la lala[More:] Hi. How's your Wednesday going?
Slowly.

The fog is back. I am therefore rather unmotivated. Though I guess I did manage to plow through some of the more boring, routine tasks that I often put off, so I guess that's productive.

Everyone here is on vacation, so it's very quiet. Which is nice.

I am looking forward to going to the gym this evening.

That's pretty much it. La la la indeed.

It's almost gone. Only 30 minutes left now.

We drove 400+ kilometers today, dropped off two cats on the way and picked a friend up from the airport. All in all, it was a busy day.

It's almost bedtime for me, I have a 5.30am start tomorrow. It's been a pretty good day. I had raspberries and Greek yoghurt for dinner and my new hairdo rocks.

The house is IMMACULATE. This has never happened before.

In recent days I have won over my messy family and our decluttering mission is progressing apace. I tackled a huge closet today and came out with FIVE paper shopping bags full of clothes to donate. FIVE!

We've put up a landing strip near the door, we've put all the loose CDs in a CD wallet, and we've emptied the "junk drawer". I've even started using PearBudget, which is awesome, awesome, and awesome again.

Overall, I feel like we finally have control over the place, like the house isn't trying to kill us under mountains of clutter.

On a totally unrelated note: My brother will be spending the weekend in downtown LA at the Anime Expo! He's super-pumped and is staying with friends in a hotel. He's enrolled himself in college, he's filled out his FAFSA...even if he still leaves his towel on his floor sometimes, it's like he's gone from being a teenager to being an adult in a week and a half. I'm so proud.

I'm happy, I'm pretty close to finishing coding changes to a program that I've been working on for a month and it's (mostly) working! I've been working so many hours on this that I can't get it out of my head when I (occasionally) go home. I've actually had at least one dream about this code.

I'm still stunned and mildly puzzled that I have no work tomorrow...besides unpacking I'm not sure what to do with myself this long four-day weekend.

I've only got another 15 minutes with just the internet dude here. My ill coworker left about 15 minutes ago (he's normally here until 530).

I'm contemplating skipping out early myself, but I'll probably stick around and diddle on the internets.

Tomorrow, I get to tell my boss about some fucked up stuff that isn't my fault and call for test results. Oh goody. At least it's my short day.

My hair hurts from being in a ponytail but it is not in a condition to be let down.
I am contemplating skipping yoga for the 6th week in a row- why break a good pattern?
Today is going a lot better than yesterday though, and tomorrow will be even better! I am getting out early and going to the beach.

It's been crazy busy here lately.
1. Boss has concerns about the economy, so he cut my hours. So, that means we're behind. It's not like he's going to pick up the slack.
2. One job is nearing completion, which means it's when all the f**k-ups come out. Even when they aren't our problem, the issue comes to me to be resolved because I don't panic and figure a way to make it work.
3. Boy, do I need a different place of employment. This town is small, so it's hard to find something else.
4. Good thing is that since my hours are cut, I'll actually have off the 4th. While it's unpaid like all holidays, it's time off. I'm going to spend the latter part of the day with my nephew at his place on the river fishing for catfish till dark.
5. Nephew says he'll have to come out to the paved road to fetch* me. He lives down a mile-long dirt road and the thing is almost unpassable. But, that means it's nice and remote and quiet out there. The nights are black as all get-out.
6. Looking forward to the weekend!

Want a nap. I just answered the office doorbell like it was the telephone. Will try some tea instead.

Busy busy. Packing for the camping trip, doing laundry, running errands, etc.

I feel like a housewife. What's worse is that I'm not sure that I mind it.

I stopped by the community garden on the way home from work and ate a half dozen plums. Last time I was there the trees were loaded. This time there were barely any. I'm glad I dropped by if just for that.

While watering my garden at home, I got eaten alive. I'm trying not to scratch.

Hot. Sweaty. Tiring. But I made $30 in tips from two of my regulars (Jamaican Math Lady and a retired maintenance guy we call Louie Louie), so I got some nice beer. Plus Pips is visiting her mom and stopping off to pick up double-chili-cheese-bacon burgers, crab cakes, pepper & egg subs and other goodies from my favorite greasy spoon.

It was a nice little afternoon at first. I did some errands, had a great walk, and came home from the farmers' market with a six-pack of herbs to plant and put on the front porch.

Unfortunately, I also came home with sudden back spasms, which are keeping me in bed instead of at the MeFi meet-up going on right now. Wah.

But... I'm in bed with an ice pack on my back, the evening has become cool and breezy, and I'm about to put on a scary movie and have a cold ginger beer. This ain't awful!

Well, the business trip from hell is winding down; I actually had a fairly calm day today (after thinking it would be crisis-filled). It appears all the problems might be behind us and we should finish this weekend (yes, I'm stuck away from home on July 4!) But... assuming we do get everything done, I'll have a couple days back at the office and will then take off for a 2+ week vacation to visit family in upstate New York.

I ended up stuck at work for almost twelve hours. There are signs of next week sucking as bad as this week, but there's a CHANCE I can get out of working on the holiday Friday, so I'd call it even.
