What Women Like This is a Realtor campaign aimed at professional women with high incomes. The goal is to connect fun with serious real estate investment. Increase real estate investment = increase money for fun!
I don't get it. Wealthy women like cartoons and weddings?
posted by rmless2 25 June | 12:53
Well, they like weddings, 'cos that's how they get rich in the first place, by marrying a wealthy man.

no, silly. they're *professional women with high incomes*

(oh, that kind of professional)

That's just a marketing site directed at realtors -trying to get them to spend money to mail out cards to prospective customers.

aaah, Purple. It signals "Targeted at females, but those more mature than females still in the PINK phase"

We can not like any other colors. It is the law.
posted by dabitch 25 June | 13:14
And btw more and more realtors ARE women.
posted by bunnyfire 25 June | 13:18
Oh, dabitch, I read "pink phase" as pre-menopausal.

How are a pack of women who look like praying mantises supposed to make me want to invest in real estate?
posted by brujita 25 June | 13:20
My head gets all dizzy when I think about real estate investment! Math is hard! I feel faint, and I need a pedicure!
posted by Miko 25 June | 13:24
But Miko, how will you pay for your pedicure!?! Perhaps you should consider investing your money! It's like having alimony all on your own!

Cannot. Stop. Laughing. And I haven't even clicked through yet.

Wait, you mean women are allowed to own property now?

Hee, I use one of that illustrator's pieces (at least I think it's hers; looks very similar) as the central part of a logo for our Science Sisters club. Science Sisters = girls age 8 - 12 who meet afterschool once a month to do an experiment/hang out with a different woman scientist (we've had everything from a NOAA meteorologist to an OB/GYN to a paleontologist) at each meeting. We started it a few years ago because girls in the middle school years show a dramatic drop of interest in the sciences; by catching them when they're younger we hope to send a group of already science minded girls to middle school to combat this tendency. It's a huge hit. We also do a week long summer daycamp session. The girls love the logo - perky cartoon woman in labcoat with beaker! What's not to like! - but I think if you're over 12 her work is a little, uh, cloying.

Awesome-sounding program, mgl!

how will you pay for your pedicure!?!

Um...credit card! Right?

They just all remind me of the Fashion Club from Daria.

That is all.
posted by pompomtom 25 June | 19:54
Fashion club - true!

They remind me a bit of a pet hate of mine, Hed Kandi style cover art & nightclub flyers etc etc.

"Praying Mantises" is pure gold for describing that sort of crap. That gets added to my permanent personal vocab! :D

Who wants to work with me to develop a campaign about what middle-class, older women on a budget like?

So far I've got: Glade air freshener, and those little chain thingies that you put around your neck to hold your eyeglasses. After that, I get stuck.
posted by taz 26 June | 03:37
as favourites on this site obviously don't work in firefoks, here's a [+] for mygothlaundry. :D

and taz: you forgot library card wallets.
posted by UbuRoivas 26 June | 06:28
These people seem to have a slightly better idea what women like than I do.

(I just gave away something like a gross of library card wallets--you know who else likes 'em? Little kids.)

what middle-class, older women on a budget like?

Vera Bradley. And Mary Englebreit.
posted by Miko 26 June | 09:38
Nora Roberts. And, apparently, Hillary Clinton.
