When Team Vag takes over the world, everything will sound like this. (I hope.) My muxtape update, all of it female.
Great, we both make MuxTape updates at the same time, but yours came in first, so I'm the one that looks like a doofus! But as always, you've got some mighty fins stuff going.

Yesterday I was wondering why I liked Magnapop so much in the mid 90s because I couldn't remember anything about their sound, other than that they were girly power pop and they did a cover of Thirteen. Thanks for reminding me.

OK, so I hadn't read this thread yet and I was posting in slack's thread idly thinking "gee, someone should make a mux with some Fetchin' Bones on it" and then I come here and GET OUT OF MY HEAD BORINGPOSTCARDS THATS JUST CREEPY!!!!

Heh heh heh!!!

I'm just glad to find another Fetchin Bones fan! Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world who knows about 'em. Hope Nichols is a bad-ass.

They were about 5 years ahead of their time. That metal/punk/country-honk sound would've sounded right at home amidst the Nirvana/Soundgarden/Jane's Addiction sounds of the early 90s. A friend of mine went to college with Hope and describes her as "a totally intimidating bad-ass", which I think is high praise...

I saw them several times. She has a commanding voice, to say the least.

"And then the chicken truck... CRASHED!"

BoPo and BiOlPu (?!?) - I am going back to Fetchin Bones and give them another chance since you both like a lot of the same things I do. I remember not liking them back in my college radio days, but I think my wife still has an album on vinyl.

Which album is it, Slack? Hopefully the self-titled one (with the cover made of pink pasta) or Galaxie 500. If it's not one of those, let me know and we'll work something out.

No, it's the one with the colorful car on the cover. I thought that was supposed to be the "essential one"! It's the only I've heard, so that could explain what I'm missing.

I can't remember the cover exactly, but that might be "Bad Pumpkin," which isn't bad, but also not their best. It's the only one not on CD, though, so hang onto it!

(Also, the one with the pasta on the cover is called "Cabin Flounder," it's not self-titled... I'm still not awake this morning.)

I'll send you some good Fetchin Bones stuff when I get home today.
