Radio b – A Terrorist Fist Jab To Your Ear Stuff that seemed like it might go together. Self-indulgent? Sure, but I think it works. (Then again I would, wouldn’t I?) Will it hang together? You be the judge, starting right about... NOW.

I realize I will probably be playing this for myself.
/me is here! Me, and the skipper, too!

Having a bit of a buffering issue right now, so I'll need to re-log in, I think.

Hiya taz! Not sure what's up with the buffering... let me know how that shakes out.

okay, I'm good. It's a cozy table. *sips champagne*

oops... spoke too soon, buffering again. Now okay again. Maybe it will calm down.

Brent Spiner on lead vocals, with some assistance from Michael Dorn, Jonathon Frakes, and Patrick Stewart.

okay, buffering like a mofo. I'm going to reboot and try again. Be right back.

Hmmm... I'm not doing anything different on my end. Maybe I've got a bad connection? I know LT has had trouble the last couple of times he's played - maybe I've got the same problem, whatever it is.
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 02:56
yep, still with the buffering... what bit rate are you broadcasting at?
posted by taz 21 June | 03:02
Here's what I've played so far:

1. Little Roger & The Goosebumps – Stairway to Gilligan’s Island
2. Jim Backus and Friend – Delicious!
3. Brent Spiner – It’s a Sin to Tell a Lie
4. Kinski – The Snowy Parts of Scandinavia
5. My Morning Jacket – Gideon

Actually, maybe it's me... The site here is also really super slow, but I don't know if that has to do with our earlier problems from the hosting, or if it's just me.
posted by taz 21 June | 03:04
Oooh, a technical question. Um, 64 kbps? does that sound right?
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:04
Yeah, it's a teensy bit slow here, too. But that shouldn't effect the broadcast, should it?
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:05
Hey taz, if it's just not working I can pull the plug. No sense in you hanging in there if it's unlistenable.
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:08
Okay, the bit rate isn't too high for me. Nope the site wouldn't affect it, but I didn't know if the slowness on the site was due to a connection problem on my ISPs end, which might be a reason why I'm getting buffer hell on the broadcast.

But it sounds like not. So, I'm baffled, but no can listen. bufferpoop.

But... if you are going to play for yourself anyway, you could try re-connecting with loudcity in case that might kickstart it.
posted by taz 21 June | 03:10
OK, I'll give that a shot.
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:11
Reconnected, if anyone wants to give it a listen.
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:12
still not working here. I wish somebody else were on to let us know if they have the same problem.

Oh, well! Next time!
posted by taz 21 June | 03:20
Someone was, briefly. Sorry it's not happening; maybe some nother time.
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:22
So here's the end of what I'll be playing tonight:

6. Edie Brickell & New Bohemians – What I Am
7. Neil Young & Crazy Horse – Let’s Go Downtown
8. X – The New World
9. Old 97’s – The Easy Way
10. Leslie Gore – You Don’t Own Me
11. The Pandoras – In and Out of My Life in a Day

I'll save the rest for another day. Thanks for trying.

The last song streamed fine here, if that's any help. Thought it was broken after that, until I refreshed and saw that the set was just over.
posted by sysinfo 21 June | 03:28
sysinfo, if you're still on, I can start it again.
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:31
It's rolling, mid-song.
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:32
Whoops, I forgot that I was in the midst of a DL. Honestly, I won't be back on tonight, I promise.
posted by bmarkey 21 June | 03:35
FWIW - good to see my broadcasting woes are somewhat universal. I tried to start a set last night and had the same trouble as before.
