Life is long, and many things happen.

Yeah.

It is, unfortunately, one of those chalk-it-up-to-Fate deals.

The good thing about that is that capricious Fate, three weeks from now, could go on a bender, sleep with a string of really inappropriate (and really smelly) people, and ultimately realize that its whole life path, and all its decisions, were wrong. And then -- BINGO -- you'll get a really delightful call out of the blue from that someone you hoped to be with a couple months from now.

And the fact that it's so hot out right now totally ups your chances of Fate freaking out. So don't despair. Move on, and quickly. Good things will happen. Maybe even better things.

I know the desolate feeling. It DOES suck. But as mudpuppie so eloquently puts it, better things are out there.

In fact, I just spent a delightful weekend with someone I swore I'd hate forever because she's all coupled up with a man I was until recently in love with!

Strange times... I get along with her like a house on fire now!
