AHHHHHHHHH My best friend is coming to New York this weekend!→[More:]She's on the Jersey Shore with my extended family (she married my cousin), and they're driving her crazy, so she's escaping them to come hang out with meeeee! Yaaaaay! Ahhhh I'm so excited I can't think about anything else.

And she's never been to NYC so I'm planning out all sorts of elaborate things I have to do with for the 48 hours she's here, before we both take the bus back to the shore.

Plus, she's coming from Ocean City, which has a lot of what Coney Island has- rides, boardwalk, beach, etc. Saturday is the Mermaid parade, actually, which I usually try not to miss.

Yay! you could take her to lunch or dinner in Chinatown before or after your afternoon plans. Or you could do what I sometimes do with my guests- take her on a cupcake tour of all the downtown cupcake places (magnolia, sugar sweet sunshine, tonni's minis) so she can decide which ones are really the best.
You could also do the Staten Island ferry or a trip to Governor's Island.
