AskMe CrossPostery. I seem to be crapping out on my AskMe question -- any 70s tv fans here who haven't seen it yet?
I could swear to you that I saw that one, because although I was 6 or 7 when re-runs of that show were on in the afternoons, sometime around the shows I preferred (like Three's Company and Bewitched), I remember wondering how tall a building it was and thinking that Cincinnati was a Big City type place with Skyscrapers. Sorry I can't help, but I thought it was funny that it's probably the only event from the show I remember at all.

I love that show (since Dr. Johnny Fever is obviously my role model), but I have no memory of that incident.

Oh, jonmc, you were my last hope! It's one of the greatest physical comedy moments of all time.

I have a really vague memory of that scene - hey, it's been almost thirty years - but I did find references to it here and here, so we know you didn't imagine it.

Ha, wow. Unless my mind is tricking me, I remember seeing that episode as a kid and LOLing when the drawer flew out the window. Totally. Thanks for reminding me!

Yeah, I saw the Hulu thing, and I also get a tv channel that shows old eps; I was just hoping I could be lazy and find out which episode it was without having to go through a bunch of shows. :)

If I ever do find it, I will definitely figure out some way to get that magnificent moment (the look on Mr. Carlson's face!) digitized to share with you all.

I loved that show, too, but have no recollection of that scene.

I remember the scene, but nothing else.

We're working our way through the first season on DVD right now, actually. (God damn that was a hilarious show.) We have six episodes left to watch... if the drawer gets flung in any of those, I'll report back.
