The Independent Women’s Football League - who knew? Apparently Seattle’s team, the Majestics, is close to unstoppable. Had I known, I’d have gone to a game or two – lord knows we can’t afford Seahawks tickets. Why am I just learning about this now? Has anyone else ever heard of the league? Football fans - would you support a local team?
Dude! I've known about them for awhile now - Boston has a team also.

Totally awesome.

Hopefully your find will make up for the grand debut of the Oklahoma City Sonics next year.

Seeing as I don't give a rat's ass for basketball, OK City is welcome to them. I feel bad for fans here, though.

I'm just amazed at how completely the IWFL has flown under the radar here. Neither paper has mentioned them before, to the best of my knowledge. I have to wonder if the P-I would have run that story if the Majestics' record had been mediocre this year.

I've kind of vaguely heard of the Passion but never really paid attention to them. But hey, it looks like they're unbeaten this year and will be in the playoffs. I should check out a game, they play about 10 minutes away and I can't exactly get into a Steelers game.

Yaaayyy! We didn't just win from football powerhouse Italy earlier this week in the European championship, it was 3-0. Such exciting aggressive football.
And now Holland beat the previous champions France 4-1. 4-1!
The whole city is ablaze with cars driving by while honking, whistles sounding, the sound of fireworks, everybody dressed in Orange.
I'm not a big football fan but this was so exciting!

Some great logos in there. I might need some help deciding who to root for, though.

My favorite team by logo alone are the Las Vegas Showgirlz and the Sacramento Sirens.

Seems like Denver hasn't gotten aboard this train yet, but that's okay since the Rollerdolls have had a fine season. They definitely do their share of redeeming the ongoing yawnfest between the city's major league sports clubs.

I like the Punishers' logo, but I don't know if I could cheer for a team from Palm Beach. They should move to Pittsburgh.

aaah, I thought you meant football .. ;) And I only kind of support the local team, since their fans are total hooligans and that gets real tired real fast.

Oh you nutty Europeans and your futbol.

Hehehe, I'm allowed to be 'futbol' crazy right now - we're going to the quarter-finals of the Euro cup and I live in Malmö - the deciding goal came from "Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Ronaldo from Malmö"

Get a little bit of the feeling watching the goal here. When it happened, I swear my whole building (which is a heavy old brick huge thing) literally shook from every neighbour in the house jumping up and down and yelling YEAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Congrats dabitch. We are through to the last 8 too. I guess there's a big chance Sweden and the Netherlands will play against eachother in the quarter finals....

The Chicago Force are undefeated so far this season. Watch out, Washington!

Does the name 'Chicago Force' refer obliquely to police brutality, or do I just have the 1968 DNC on the brain?
