Help Shane choose new eyeglass frames? Ovals or rectangles? So I lost my glasses today in a freak accident and I need an exam anyway. This is yr chance to photoshop me into some hideous Elton John shades. Pics & stuff are--> →[More:]

I look sorta like this (plz excyooz the hideous wallpaper and arrogant expression). I used to have oval glasses like this, but was considering geeky rectangular frames like this or this (or are they too trendy now?) since my face is so roundish.

Suggestions? Suggestions for buying the absolute cheapest glasses online? Thanks.

I like both the rectangular options, however keep in mind that option #2 will likely turn you into an Evil mathowie Cloneboy.

and on preview, yes, go with one of the fantastic internet solutions like 39dollarglasses.com or zennioptical.com - there was a MeFi thread about this last September(?) that I used as a resource. Sadly I can't link you to the MeFi thread, but were I you, I'd check out the Glassyeyes blog for more details.

Here's the MeFi thread.

I bought a pair from Glassescrafter.co.uk, which I'm very happy with, although I would not choose that style again due to the thickness of my lenses. But that was my fault, the specs are grand. Next time I'll choose a full, not half, frame.

I guess I kind of have two votes for rectangular #1, so it looks like it's in the lead over my Rainman-I'm-Afraid-of-Change (I just wanna watch my Wopner) option #2.

late extra vote for the #1 rectangular ones! I have a really oval face too and weirdly rectangular boxier frames look best! Nuts to the oval ones!

I'd go with brown, gray or dark blue frames rather than black...they're a bit too harsh.
