I was just nuking some frozen White Castles. You're supposed to wrap them in paper towels to ensure even cooking. We're out of paper towels, so I used toilet paper. This is either good ol' fashioned American ingenuity or a sign of the apocalypse. dealer's choice.
I vote ingenuity. Ain't no shame in your game.

Well, they don't call them sliders for nothing.

I wouldn't use up all that toilet paper before eating, if I were you.

Apathy is the mother of ingenuity.

(of course, it just so happens there's a bag with paper towels and paper plates right in front of the microwave -- I picked them up today)

Wasn't that long ago I ran out of toilet paper and used paper towels instead. Took a long time for my ass to forgive me for that. Yeah, I know, TMI. At least I'm not promoting any brand of either paper product (although Charmin's "bears who use TP in the woods" ads just keep getting weirder - you can download mp3s of the "Charmin Boogie"). Where was I? Oh yeah, frozen White Castles... bought fresh and frozen by you or supermarket frozen 6-pack?

And who looks in a BAG for things like paper towels and paper plates?

I remember a time when I was at my sister's and she had frozen White Castles in her freezer. You would have thought I won the lottery. OMG! Another time she had Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits. Another score. I love going to her house. She usually has yummy food like this. I can usually count on a chocolate covered granola bar or a Klondike bar. It's like being loose in a 7-11.

OMG! Y'all get those in the States, too?! Who the hell thought of using bears to sell TP?! Did anyone in that ad agency ever hear of the joke about bears shitting in the woods?!

*ahem*

I'm obviously thinking too much about this.

White Castle and toilet paper go hand-in-hand. Might as well just cut out the middle man and flush them directly. Or eat your own poo, which is just as tasty and pretty much free.

What middleclasstool said. The sliders will hit the TP in a few minutes anyway.

Do not dis the mighty Castle! My parents first date included a stop at the location on Queens Boulevard.

Used to have a roommate who lived off shoplifted microwavable White Castle burgers and Schaefer beer. Good times.

That's my local Jan, I'm pretty sure or an exact replica. White Castle fo life.

I dunno, Jan. Several years ago I was invited to a wedding that was held in this ridiculously huge backyard right smack in the middle of Los Angeles, and the reception was catered by the In-N-Out Burger Cookout Trailer.

Kinda makes a White Castle reception seem somewhat... small.

Deborah...I can guarantee you that that joke was the inspiration for the commercials. It was probably one of those "Let's pitch this concept just for laughs, and then follow-up with the real concept." ideas. Quickly followed by a "Holy shit! The bought the joke pitch!" moment.
