I'm actually re-reading "Smilla's Sense of Snow", because it's one of the books that makes me feel cooler in summer... tomorrow I'm going to the neighborhood bookstore to ask them to order me Helprin's "Winter's Tale" - a book I've read and bought numerous times, but keeping loaning out and losing. I need to find more faboo winter/snow themed novels to keep me sane until September.

Damn. It feels like it's about to do that here. It's 9C/48F this am, fer chrissakes. I've got wool socks and long johns and a sweater on and I'm *still* cold. We've decided to rename this month Juneuary. All you heatstricken bunnies, send some of that our way!

You can have all of my heat if you'll send me some of your cold, elizard. Yet another day here in New Jersey topping out over 100 degrees Farenheight. Yuck. Just loading the groceries makes you break out in a sweat. We're supposed to get thunderstorms tonight - I sure hope so!!

I am not trying to rub it in. The weather is just weird.

I also realize that 95 degrees is as miserable, or more, than 105 where I live, due to the humidity.

I have a long-sleeve flannel shirt on and I just went outside and was cold.
