A murder in my neighborhood. Pangrati is the larger neighborhood just next to us... If we tell people we live in Mets, and they aren't familiar with it, we tell them Pangrati. This page has a couple of photos of the guy. →[More:]

I actually sat next to him and we talked briefly at a party in Thessaloniki a few years ago, before we moved to Athens (he was nice). I had no idea he lived near us.

As bad as it sounds, I'd be more releived about that. It shows it was a crime of passion, someone had something in for him. Not just a random event or a robbery gone wrong, where the criminal was out there waiting to do it again at any time.

Was the 40g of coke personal? Maybe he was dealing, which would increase the chance of being murdered exponentially (I would think).

Still not a nice thing, taz. I'm sorry.

um. that's dealing quantity. That's twice the value of my car quantity. 40grams is almost half a cup... that's more than woody allen sneezed across the room in annie hall.

The coke thing shows that he was definitely way messed up and not in a good place, but I don't think that the murder was directly related in the sense of organized crime figures or money, because the killer used a knife from the house instead of bringing a weapon, and was totally messy about it all (leaving footprints and other evidence)... and there was apparently 500 euros left sitting on the table.
