Where did I put my envelope of money? →[More:]All suggestions welcome.

I am going to visit my sister in Georgia (flight leaves this Thursday night, gah!), and my mom had given me a stack of Georgian money left from her trip there a few months ago.
So, being me, I put it in a *really safe place.* Safe from me and my memory that is.
It isn't in the document holder where I keep my passport, it isn't in the night-table drawer where I keep my gift cards.
It isn't under the box of bandaids on my desk.
It isn't under the bed; I would have heard the bunny chomping on it by now.
Where is it? I know it's in my bedroom somewhere...

it fell behind your nightstand, remember? you laid it down there and thought to yourself...."I will put that with my passport so I don't forget it in the morning..." but then you came in later that night and dumped all your stuff on the nightstand and it fell behind? remember?

Why are you so sure it's in your bedroom? Maybe you're really sure it is, and it actually isn't. Broaden your search. Think about what you were wearing the night your mom gave you the money .. what bag you were carrying, things like that. It might help trigger your memory. Have a friend help you look - sometimes a fresh pair of eyes will see something you glanced right over. Is there something you set aside to take to your sister? Maybe you put the money next to that. What a neat trip. I hope you have a blast.

I know where my envelope of money from the ATM is - my hubby threw it out with some trash when he cleaned out my car after taking it on a short road trip. So if someone wants an easy $50, it's in the trash can at the McDonald's just on the far side of the Chicago Skyway bridge. Grrrr.

Hmm. We were in my apartment when she gave it to me... I did a purse check anyway but no luck so far.
Putting it next to something I will pack sounds right, but I can't think of what that would be other than my passport.

It's also not in: jewelry box, naughty drawer, coffee table drawers, financial forms, stack of newspapers, photo albums.

I actually found a money envelope "lost in a safe place" for my mom not too long ago. She was so surprised I found it, but I somehow knew I would. It was in a metal box in her desk with some other papers.

Tucked in a travel guide book perhaps? Some other book (under "G" in the dictionary)? In an envelope with plane tickets? Camera case? Laptop case? Shoe box? Toiletries bag? Luggage? Freezer? Chimney?

Do I get a finder's fee if I get it? ; )
