I swear to god, looking cute when first born has to be an evolutionary advantage to keep from being hunted by (at the very least) humans.

Cute babies are an advantage to all animals, humans too.
i am fine with baby animals wandering into my home, except the human ones.
Wot a cutie.

I'd definitely be tempted to keep it if one wandered into my home. Not much chance of that in Illinois, I suspect.
