I'm at work. The place is half-empty, and the folks who ARE here have planned some kind of "cookout" potluck thing at lunch. Not to be anti-social, but I'd really rather try to get my work done so I can maybe leave early.

I'm just deciding whether or not to work. It's a close friend's day off and she said she'd come help me pack. I think I'll take her up on it and explain to the uncle why I won't be there. It's not a holiday here, though. I hope you at least get extra pay for it, or is that just a commie socialist thing?

I'm on call to work from home today, which blows. It's really nice out and I'd rather be outside riding my bike or drinking bloody marys with my friends.
