Strangest thing I've seen in a while:→[More:] The filleted, gape-mouthed carcass of a very large fish, nailed to the telephone pole outside of 7-11.
Well, geez, I wish I could join you all at this particular 7/11. We could act out scenes from films like "Say Anything" (and that other movie that was a play first that I saw on IFC the other day) and hang out in the parking lot and drink beers. We're here "by choice!", man, who cares about dates!
AND, we could stare at the fish!
Damn!
What town do you live in, special-k and mudpuppie? I'm on my way and jazzed just thinking about this. Roadtrip! (But "roadtrip" is a bunch of other films, eh?)
That is strange, mudpuppie. I wonder if a fisherman gutted his fish at the 7-11, bought some ice to ice it down and left it there as a trophy.
On my walking route to my kid's school I noticed a skull that looked like a dog's. I thought to myself, "a dog must of died here. How sad." Then I quickly realized it was a armadillo skull. Duh.
Man, if it's the 7-11 I'm thinking of, it's been there forever. Like when I lived there. What I really hate is I still can tell you my phone number growing up, the two addresses we lived at the longest, and the fucking zip code. Sigh. The stuff I remember and need to forget versus the stuff I need to remember, and always forget.
There's a string of filleted fish carcasses hanging from a street sign near my sister's house. She lives in a wooded area at the bottom of a ski mountain, so it would stand to reason that some camper probably caught and ate the fish, then left the bones as some sort of trophy.
Except that the fish are obviously flounder.
