Ask MeCha: What's the name of the used to sprinkle holy water?[More:]So a censer is the thing that swings and burns incense, and the little bowl of holy water by the door is a font (I think?) but what's the little ball-on-a-stick holy water sprinkle thingy?

Asked in all ignorance and sincerity. Halp to educate plz?
...dur. name of the thing used to sprinkle holy water. One day I may learn to READ when I preview.

That word is awfully close to Aspergillus, a type of mold.

From that wiki - "Viewing the fungi under a microscope, Micheli was reminded of the shape of an aspergillum (holy water sprinkler), and named the genus accordingly"
