1) it snowed (?!) again this morning.

2) I need to finish about six more things before I can leave.

3) I am doing my first mountain bike race in ten years this coming Saturday O_o

1) Seems I need that server upgrade much sooner than I expected (nor can afford)

2) Perle loves babies and babysat a six-month-old like a loving big sister with all hugs and kisses and night time reading included, which totally took me by surprise.

3) My man needs a new mac really really bad, he missed a job today due to the lack of speed on the one he has.

1) My side muscles hurt, but it's kind of a good hurt.

2) I'm finishing off a bag of toffee-covered peanuts and it's down to little broken off bits of toffee shell which should in principle be concentrated awesome but which are for whatever reason not as good as toffee still on a peanut.

3) I both lose sleep the night of and check in obsessively the day after I launch a blog project and I think it makes me into sort of a crazy person.

1. Vlad is dead. I now have to steal a policecar.
2. My lack of desire to see my 90+ year old Grandmother this weekend probably makes me a bad person.
3. Hot weather makes people in Halifax want to fight. It's all kicking off.

1) I pulled all of my carrots today and only a few were normal/sizable. The others were either extremely wee or majorly misshapen. And wee. Tasted fantastic, though.

2) I can't seem to bring myself to put the sheets and mattress pad on the bed, and I am just lazy enough to sleep on the bare mattress. Go me!

3) There's an online friend who's gone somewhat missing, and I'm concerned.

1. My laptop got repaired yesterday (what kind of warranty is this that covers a machine being slid across a bus cargo bay and slammed into the wall), so I can now use my delete key, down arrow key and trackpad again.

2. I'm doing the 5k run at the Corporate Games again this Saturday and have, for the third year running, totally failed to prepare in any way.

3. My iPod died and I miss it terribly.

1. Ever have one of those days? My brain feels like Wez's arm.

2. It's supposed to be 84 on Thursday. Seeing as it's currently mid-50s and raining, this seems unlikely.

3.Perhaps coincidentally, I have to come in two hours early on Thursday for some BS corporate training seminar. Yet another reason to dread Thursday.

3a. They've revised the forecast - it's now only supposed to get up to 71 Thursday. Friday, on the other hand, is supposed to be 87. Guh. Please kill me now.

1. One full day after dumping more water than I was supposed to into the Radiator Pre-Receptacle (you know, for the pressurized radiator gadgetry), I got through a 22-mile errand run without the temp gauge going over the M in NORMAL for the first time in months. Don't know why, just much relieved it did. Guess I shouldn't have assumed for all that time that the "Cold Engine Level" was enough water. (Even right after adding the water I couldn't drive 5 miles without going nervously past the L - and everything is at least 5 miles away)

2. Stopping at a Morro Bay fast-foodery for an eat-in-the-car lunch, I was entertainingly harassed by a seagull. An almost-as-big-as-a-past-Thanksgiving-turkey seagull. After about a minute standing by my open car window repeating a three-squawk pattern (seagullese for "Feed Me Wendell"?), it jumped up onto the hood of the car in front of the driver's seat and started pecking at the windshield. I wisely rolled up the side window, because it then hopped to and perched itself on the side-view mirror and did everything EXCEPT birdpooping on the car to get my attention. Through a crack in the window I tossed it a few morsels through the crack of the window, most of which it caught in mid-air, but when it missed, it looked down at on the ground, and if it was lettuce, left it there and resumed mooching. Otherwise, it pounced on it but returned to its perch after a moment. Dinner and a bird show. One thing I love about this area.

3. I tried "Wubi" to install a side-boot Linux on this rather underpowered laptop, and it took a lo-o-ong time to download but worked ver-r-ry nice! Not really using it yet, because I need to either dig up my wireless key or connect an ethernet cable to get it online and I'm too lazy. It's just nice to know it's there.

(Bonus weather report... it's been marvelously mild (Lows in the 40s-50s, Highs 60s-70s) the last couple weeks, but we're expecting a heat wave - 80s at the beach, up to 100 inland - by Thursday... still, the 'good start' to the rainy season has come to a screeching halt and we've almost resumed drought-ish conditions. Sigh. For those of you wondering whatever happened to Global Warming, IT'S OVER HERE!)

1. Gerunds and infinitives, despite what my textbook tells my students, are really not as big a deal as articles, so I don't know why they're given as much attention as they are.

2. I have all these cauliflower florets left in the fridge that I totally don't want to eat.

3. Our water pipes have made our shower water a light straw color since the weekend, which gives the showerer the extremely pleasant visual effect of bathing in urine. Please allow me to extend a personal debt of gratitude to Brezhnev and all my homies back in the Latvian SSR, who ordered the construction of this nightmarish pile of concrete.

you know what you need to do with cauliflower, don't you? The first time I tried the over-roasting method, I ate cauliflower for three days straight. om nom nom.

1. It's supposed to be nice this weekend - I really hope so, so we can finally buy some plants.

2. It's a three day weekend, yay!

3. It's 11:15 and I'm still wearing my nightgown.

Cauliflower? I had some last night, with chick peas. Sauteed a whole lot of onions and garlic, added chillies/cumin/coriander/turmeric and so on, bunged in the chick peas and cauliflower and a little stock, cooked for a while, added a little yogurt at the last minute.

Our new office looks out over salt flats.

Been a little discouraged lately about a few things that probably aren't going to work out the way I wanted. I know, I know. But still.
